Vir island is unique in its kind in Croatia. Basically the seashore is rocky in the country, sandy beaches are rare. However, one may find many of them on Vir island and its surroundings. The nearest beach (150 meters from the apartment house) is pebbly. The sea is shallow on the southern part, suitable for families with little kids.    One of the closest sandy might be seen below, located at the old castle on the bay. Visitors may reach this one within 10 mins by car. Parents may allow kids to play here and enjoy the warm sea without making mums and dads worrying as the sea is shallow here as well and safety for small children.     On the northern part of Vir, one may find rather pebbly beaches. It is advisable to visit these ones for those who like to surf, as northern part of the island is windy and many surfers are riding there.
For those who prefer to enjoy the untouched nature to crowded beaches, might be a memorable trip to explore the northern shore far from the towns. They are difficult to reach, however, we can help you to find the way to these locations. Some sandy shores can be reached only by boat - therefore they are desolated: the family can enjoy sunbathing, swimming and diving alone. No crowd... No mess... Only the calm and wonderful nature...
Our guests' favourite beach is Ninska laguna, which is a long sandy beach 10 km from Vir island. This one is unique in its kind in Croatia: one of the longest riviera countrywide. Town of Nin has its unique atmosphere in the mediterranean locations with its tiny streets, cafés, and calm bay. This beach is a paradise for families with small kids: the water is shallow and warm. The waves are small and the sea is safe for the smallest too. If you travel to Vir, do not miss town of Nin to explore! The whole family will enjoy it! |
