On the spot there are 2 kite/windsurf schools for the beginners. Most rider kiting at the Sabunike-Nin line - that is more infrastructured by buildings and hotels - , but in the last years some was kiting at the VIR-Privlaka channel. For the advanced kiters there is a long opened-sea area between NIN and island PAG, it is for experienced kiters because of 8-10km open-sea area. On the main spot there are 2 insided and closed lagoon with shallow water for beginners and learners for their safety.
On the other side of the main spot there is a classic sea area with longer waves with the panorama of Velebit mountains. From the shore to the sea there are about 300 meter with shallow water for our safety with mainly sanded bottom. The typical wind direction is N, NW, (bora), or S, SE (jugo). Each direction is good for the spot, but the best is N, NW. In the S, SE winds the local riders are going to Zadar. That spot is only for experienced kiters because of opened sea area and deep water. For those, who wants to try that spot, this is situated at SE side of the Zadar's old town. The area called 'Kolovare' .
The best months is march-june, sept-dec. In the main season (june-sept) the wind is very incalculable, but there are also good possibilities to go.
In the seaseon months (june-sept) in the afternoon there are some thermal winds coming from the mountains, but the windspeed could be different day by day. (5-15knots). For the afternoon thermal winds lot of kiters using large, RAM-air kites in light wind conditions.
The distance from our apartment house is about 7 km.
